Background
In high school, I participated in a career and technical education program which included childcare courses and hands-on work experience. I then earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and teaching certification in Nursery-3rd grade. I have worked in childcare centers as a preschool and Pre-K Counts teacher, and for many years as an Education Manager/Early Childhood Specialist with Head Start. Additionally, I have been an ECE grader for an online college.
Experience
I have been a Program Quality Assessor with the Pennsylvania Key since 2016 and have been a PQAS certified instructor since 2017. I felt prepared for this new role with my prior experience working with children and adults in a childcare setting, observing in classrooms and providing feedback, training staff, and familiarity with STARS requirements as a director. I am reliable and can provide support to programs using the Environment Rating Scales (ERS) and have been a certified Pre-K Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) assessor for over 10 years. I can also consult on the PICCOLO, PAS/BAS, CHILD, and ROSIE.
Fun Facts
I live with my husband Dennis, our daughter Elise, my stepson Jacob, and our dog Winston. I like to bake, design/create unique artwork, am a new but competent crotcheter, love to organize, and am always willing to learn or try something new. I enjoy music/concerts, puzzles/games, a good murder mystery, and anything scary or whimsical.
