We’re adding a new blog feature where we spotlight a member of the Pennsylvania Program Quality Assessment Team each month. Have fun getting to know our team!

Background
I fell in love with working with young children while in college at California University of Pennsylvania pursuing a BA in Elementary Education. I worked in the campus childcare program one semester and was hooked. While teaching in a toddler classroom years later, I had the opportunity to participate in a mentoring program supporting teachers with managing children with behavior issues. I found the interactive supports so helpful I remember telling my mentor, “Someday I want to do what you do – help teachers be the best that they can be each day.”

Experience
I joined the Pennsylvania Key’s PQA Team in 2006 after holding positions as an Assistant Director, Child Care Resource and Referral Specialist, Quality Project Monitor, Keystone STARS Specialist, and Manager. I have served the PQA Team as an Assessor, Supervisor, and after receiving my MS in Leadership from Capella University in 2012 I went on to become the team’s Manager.

Fun Facts
I’m a mom to one adult son and two furry, four-legged daughters that rule the family.  My husband and I enjoy cooking together, gardening, and date nights – both at home and out.  I love to organize and decorate our home and have an avid interest in all things related to crafting and art. I truly love working with the members of the PQA Team, and for the programs across the state in Keystone STARS. I cannot imagine a more rewarding career!
