Schools are closed and many children are attending school online. Businesses are closed. Restaurants are offering curb side pick-up or delivery, no dining in. People are self-isolating. Our routines have been disrupted due to the COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus. There are many changes going on right now.
Child-care centers are closed. Safety and Health have become top priorities all around. Due to the current situation, the PA Key, in coordination with OCDEL (Office of Child Development and Early Learning), has made the decision to suspend all Program Quality Assessment visits until further notice. If a program had an upcoming assessment with a time sensitive nature, programs can contact their ELRC Quality Coach, their Preschool Program Specialist and/or any other system support staff they’re working with to discuss next steps.
Although, assessments are not being conducted, PA Key staff, including Program Quality Assessors, are continuing to work from home offices during this time and are available to support programs who have questions. We will continue to keep you updated as new information becomes available. Please check the PA Keys website for updates from OCDEL and the Governor.
Keep yourself safe and healthy. More information can be found at the links below. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides regular updates. The PA Department of Health has information on the virus as well. There is also a fact sheet from the CDC about the Coronavirus.
