We’ve added a new blog feature where we spotlight a member of the Pennsylvania Program Quality Assessment Team each month. Have fun getting to know our team!

Background
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Urban Education and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, both from Millersville University (where I’m actively involved in the alumni association and as a mentor to current students). I’m a PQAS instructor and a Pediatric First Aid Instructor, and I have my Director Credential. Why did I choose ECE? Well, to quote Whitney Houston, “I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.”
Experience
I joined the Program Quality Assessment team in April 2015. Prior to that, I was the executive director of a non-profit early learning program for several years; I also taught preschool for many years (3 year-olds are my favorite!). I serve on the Occupational Advisory Committee to my local vocational-technical high school.
Fun Fact
My hero and role model are Mr. Rogers. I volunteer every summer at a high school camp as the activities director, and it’s one of the highlights of my year. My favorite band is U2, followed closely by Rend Collective and Muse. And I’m quite an extrovert and gain a lot of energy from spending time with people.
